This is amazing! <3 Your abstract/illustrative animals are fun to look at, and all the details are drawn in a way that it keeps the viewer's eye moving around the piece. It's sort of similar to a game of "I Spy," I suppose?
I was wondering: Do you typically sketch these in pencil/lightly with pen first, then draw in the details? Or do you normally start off by drawing them?

I start by using pencil and lightly and roughly sketching in the animal. I then draw the outline of the patterns directly with pen, followed by the shading. I use a reference of the animal for the first sketch and then I hardly look at it once I draw in the outline. Thanks for asking
