May I ask which ballpoint you use? It's a favored medium of mine as well so I'm always on the look out for some to test in shading with. Beautiful work though, simply beautiful.

Thankyou, well I use a variety of ball point pens. Pretty much any brand I can get my hand ones. I have a thing for Bics but really any will do. Two blacks of different brands though might actually differ in colour, so it's best not to mix the ball points in that case :)

yes I'm familiar with that occurrence. It's largely why I stick with using Pentel RSVP and Pilot BPS both in fine point. It's to avoid the black inks that have a purple, blue, green or brown undertone that scanners pick up. *will just buy a 12 pk to not risk running out at a crucial inking point.*

The Pilot is good for thin, dark lines with a light hand and the Pentel for broader swatches of inking. Haven't touched BICs in ages, might pick up a few when next at the store and see if they build up globules or not.

Thank you!

Really beautiful work - I love this style of yours! <3
It's even more amazing that you draw it all with a black ball-point pen. :wow: Do you sketch it in pencil first, or just go straight in with pen? O:

Thanks so much! I use a pencil and lightly sketch in the basic shapes and contours of the animal using a reference. I then draw the outline of all the patterns directly with pen, and continue shading in from there :)

You're most welcome! :cuddle:

That makes sense! Thank you. <3 I've always been a little scared of working with pen as there's no easy way to correct mistakes. :saddummy:
